United by Sound is a Peacebuilding Program of the Home for Cooperation which uses music as a tool to build connections and foster empathy between the communities of Cyprus. Music is a powerful tool that can enable people to overcome preconceived ideas and prejudices and strengthen social bonds in societies divided and affected by the conflict.The Program is committed to using the power of music to bridge divides, connect communities, and overcome the long-lasting effects of division.

Results/Outcomes/Products: The Program hosts performances by established and upcoming musicians from all over Cyprus at the Home for Cooperation. It has prompted venues around Cyprus to host musicians from both sides of the divide and has initiated beautiful collaborations. The Program is committed to supporting a new generation of emerging Cypriot artists that view their music and its innate excitement surrounding co-creation, as a response to the existing physical and mental barriers.
