The Law and Internet Foundation held its first local activity under the project “Tracing Integration Policies through Structured Dialogue” (TRAIN) in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 16 May 2019, on the premises of the VUZF University (University of Finance, Business and Entrepreneurship). The participants were students from the university, young people from Sofia who have interest in the importance of the structured dialogue process, and were thus inspired to learn more about the multiple opportunities, provided under TRAIN, that would give their voice a platform to be heard.
The main topics discussed during the first TRAIN local activity were the national forms of youth participation, as well as the importance of structured dialogue for communication between the EU and young people. LIF also presented the upcoming activities under TRAIN and the opportunities for participation and contribution to the project by the young people at the event. The participants expressed their willingness to contribute to the creation of youth policies in the process of integration of migrants, towards an inclusive society, promoting tolerance and respect for human rights. They also stated they would participate in a future activity, organised within the project implementation.
LIF organized and conducted its second local activity for Sofia under the TRAIN project on 24 July 2019, on the premises of Law and Internet Foundation in Sofia. The participants were young people and youth workers from Sofia who have interest in the importance of the structured dialogue process, keen on learning about the purpose and objectives of the project.
Once more, the main topics discussed during the second TRAIN local activity in Sofia tackled the national forms of youth participation and the importance of structured dialogue for communication between EU and youth, highlighting their utmost importance for the successful implementation of the project results. LIF also presented the upcoming activities under TRAIN and the opportunities for participation and contribution to the project by the young people at the event. The participants discussed different opportunities regarding the future local activities, including possible invitation for participation of political figures and members of the National Youth Forum. Besides, the results of the conducted activities during the TRAIN C1 Training in Bucharest, Romania, which was held at the beginning of July, were discussed. Lastly, there was a wide discussion related to the relevant means concerning the dissemination of the TRAIN project, as the participants have reached several beneficial conclusions.
