The departmental council of Ille-et-Vilaine drives a global action of economic, social, educational and cultural development by intervening in different sectors. A leader in social action, it is responsible for maternal and child protection (PMI) and implements actions in favor of the family and children. He is the single point of contact for the active solidarity income (RSA), professional integration, the elderly and the disabled. Its responsibilities and its choices of intervention contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the Gardois in various fields: road infrastructures, employment, economy, housing, environment and risk prevention, education, sport, culture, aid to municipalities.
