Unione dei Comuni Barbagia was established in 2008 and includes the municipalities of: Gavoi, Lodine, Ollolai, Olzai, Oniferi, Ovodda, Sarule and Tiana. It is an administrative entity composed of a group of municipalities that decide to associate in order to coordinate some common activities and services. The Union of Municipalities is an institution present in many countries, including Italy, that aims to strengthen administrative action and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public services provided to citizens. It has an administrative and financial autonomy and can be established on a voluntary basis by the municipalities concerned. The headquarters of this entity is located in Lodine, at Via Dante Alighieri, 1, 08020 – Lodine (NU).
